One day of my life

I'll show You my examplary day, places I pass every day and places, which are part of my life here :)

It's really hard to wake up earlier than at 12., but sometimes you just have to leave your warm, comfortable bed.... ;]

FIrst view - buildings A - E

Few times a week I ride my bike to the university (6-7km). THere are two obstacles that you can encounter during thos journey: first is train bridge, when you have to cycle a lil bit upwards, there is really beautiful sight from the bridge, expecially when it's nice weather (cycling is really tough when it's blowing heavily - of course always againts your face - and raining), second is small hill, just in the end of the path below, which in totally flat Netherlands seems like a mountain! On my way I pass POLITIE building with cute sculpture of policeman, bus and train station, small roundabout with some monument and some nice buildings :)

Whole Radboud University constitutes quite huge campus, with several faculties and Hospital. I've read that it's the most green campus in Europe (but certainly one of the most green;]). The highest building in Nijmegen is blue building of (I guess) Social Sciences in the very campus , there are 18 floors, view from the top is amazing!

Photos from campus are below, don't let the appearances mislead You - sunny dayes are here very rare.

SOmetimes we have to settle some matters in External Relations Office:

and pay rent in SSHN :) (yes yes, 295 euros, can U belieeeeve thaat?!)

O'shea's Pool Night

Many people left, because it's fall break this week. We expected, that O'shea's will be empty as never before. We had little pre party in our flat. I proposed Mariona, that we can play pool (usually it's hard to play, cause lots of people are occupying tables without any breaks..).. and thought that T can't play, because of his hand...

Varun, Billy, me, Renee

We were really surprised when we saw T playing pool. WHat's more - he beat his brother several times. Well, I have to admit, that they play just as proffesionalists.

B and T. It turned out that with or without right hand T plays as good as always.

Yes, I should deffinitely learn something from Billy.

We left early, about 2. and had small after party in our flat.

Mariona as a peace fan ;]

T ' s BIRTHDAY PARTY ::: Saturday 14. 10.

The day has come, that our flatmate T turned 26. On the same day T's brother - Billy came from Manchester (this guy has the most amazing slippers I've ever seeeeen - speaking Homer Simpson!!!!!!!).
In the evening we gave T the present (Superman towel and earphones with microphone).
After that we went all together to Renee's flat, where we had pre -party.

Varun, Billy, Tallal

Varun and Mariona - what are they looking at??? :)

Later after getting a lil' bit smashed we went to the city. Our way there seemed to be really neverending, it took us longer than usually to reach the center ;)

Me, Mariona with her glasses (she's got only one lecture per week, sometimes Mariona wants to be regarded as a nerd :) )and Steffi (For You Steffi I attach second picture below! )

Veronica, Steffi, Me, piece of MAriona and in the background - Varun ;]

We crashed Boogie Wonderland. Our group was really big, so the crowd of dutch people wasn't that annoying... Party was really great, with a lot off friends, so even dutch crowd didn't bother us.

Philipp & T - who's bigger? :)

Our two flatmates - T & Rafa, Varun and Philipp

T & R

Billy - T's bro and Varun (really focused while dancing :) )

We came back home pretty late and on our way back we met Bennet and Marie and Wuuuhuuu ;] and some other people.. My chain was broken and Bennet fixed it (if we didn't meet them my chain wouldn't be broken:P), then we bought some food and went back to our beloved Lent.

On the next day it turned out, that T had accident. He had literally open wound on his head and broken hand. He went to the hospital and they stitched head up and his right hand is in plaster now. He looks very poor now and everybody helps him.

Good party - it's a pity that finished like that, but T doesn't loose sense of humour and his good mood ;)

ROTTERDAM 14.10.

Finally I went somewhere ! Anna (polish), Meredith (Vermount), Stephanie (Belgium) and me - took our bikes, to ease our journey, what costed us few euros more, but was worth it, because I can't imagine this all trip without my beloved bike :)

First destination: Gouda (yes yes, the city famous with it's cheese).

We sighsaw the longest church in The Netherlands (123 m), called St John's church (St. Janskerk).
There are plenty of stained glass windows, called "Gouda Windows", depicting scenes from biblical and national history.
In the floor of the church many people were burried in previous ages, last burial took place in 1832. It was strange feeling to walk on the graves.

There is a museum, called "museumgoud" right next to the church.
Astonishing thing was found by us on the wall:
(we don't agree with more than half of these statements)

Lots of nice objects were inside, we were watching them accompanied by nice american music, from 40-50's (maybe?)

In the museum's yard there was charming cafeteria.

Suddenly, black cat joined us, crossing our way several times (but it was nohow unlucky for us ). It really wanted to have photos with us.

In the end we went to market taking place in the city centre. We bought some cheese of course :)
After 2 hours of sightseeing and walking we went to the station and catched the train to Rotterdam. On our way we saw really weird object - the bridge for the river.

We had a map from Noelia (Spanish girl who was there before with her friends), with all the most important objects marked on it. We decided to follow the route enabling us to see as many buildings as it was possible.

First stop was on the little wooden bridge.

And afterwards many beautiful, amazing and unique buildings:

City Hall

One of funny buildings, don't really remember what is it's function.

Next to the Station

Central Station in Rotterdam

THe Westin Hotel

Museumpark - one of the sculptures

...and who's better?

Museumpark

Euromast

One of the two bridges

Golden Tulip Hotel and traffic sign ;)

Cubic houses

Pipe house

World Trade Center (didn't know that there are more buildings called this name but American one...)

BMW !!! COuld've given it to me... ;(

Our way back home was a little bit stressing, cause in the train there was not much space for our bikes and people instead of taking the seat, were taking place which we could've used for our bikes.. And conductor was very rude in the beggining, later his attitude was more friendly (Meredith said, that maybe after he spend some time with his thoughts he realized that he behaved like an asshole ;])

MISSION Rotterdam: Accomplished ;]
