Saturday 26th July

We payed Monika a call on saturday, in Greystones. Paul prepared very tasty bbq and Monika made the best chocolate dessert I've ever had. While the couple was cooking me and Mariona were looking after little lady.

Roisin is so beautiful that I couldn't take my eyes off her.

The new little human being, mystery. Whole life is ahead her!

In the evening we met Mariona's friend from English course and my friend from Canada.

We spent the night in Blackhall, aka Black hole. We enjoyed the party in someone's apartment. Going to the pub is not the best option here (in my opinion), cause Irish people seem not to know how to party. They know how to get smashed very well instead ;)

LIBERTIES - you should be glad you're alive !

As a tourists we didn't know the city at all before we arrived. It's a common knowlede that every city has its own dodgy areas you wouldn't like to discover alone at night. Especially when you are a girl.

Like Nowa Huta in Krakow, like Baluty in Lodz, like Praga in Warsaw, like Brooklyn in NY, like Barric xino in Barcelona... Dublin has its worst area called Liberties. We've just found out that the street we live at is in.... Liberties.

People react differently when we tell them where we live.

People at work said "Well.. don't worry, it's not THAT bad..". Randomly met people say: "Jesus, you should be glad you're still alive!" or "how come you're still alive?". We were hoping that maybe there's some other worse area... but no. Yesterday we heard, that liberties is definitely the worst XD

However, we are not too worried. Everything seems to be fine so far XD  But check daily news just in case, cause if it was too late we won't be able to let anybody now about any harm :P

HEINEKEN OPEN'ER FESTIVAL

Heineken Open'er Festival is a huge event at the polish seaside in Gdynia (Baltic Sea) which attracts thousands of people every year for three days. This year it was on 4-6th of july.

The weather conditions were suitable, it wasn't raining. There were many different bands and artists performing, i.a. Jay-z, Roisin Murphy, Gentleman, Devotchka (amazing !), Erykah Badu (huge dissapointment), Massive Attack and the Chemical Brothers (what a sound !).

Below pictures from our stay in gdynia (we spent there 5 days, from 3rd to 7th), sorry for random order of pics but there's no time now for organizing it (sorry, over 3 am and I'm flying to Dublin tomorrow... sic!).

First breakfast - Mariona had grilled sausage with the brand logo impressed on it !

Gdynia - pier
Maria on the pier

Roisin Murphy - she was great ! Original and avant-garde !

Devotchka - they played my favourite "How it ends", they were superb !

Main Stage

Fed up with Heineken for another year I guess... definitely not the best bear in the world ;)

The cook preparing polish soup - he looked like a sailor on his ship :)

Quite odd - swans in the sea

Erykah Badu (performing with laptop,  with track suit  and trainers on her... )

Jay - z : one of the main attractions of the festival (at least for me), he knew how to make us move ! Great guy
We took a short trip to Sopot - favourite resort for posh  people,  nothing like relaxing place. We say no to Sopot !

During chemical brothers (not 100 % sure, but 90% ;) )

Beat Stage

Chemical Brothers - great sound, making the chest vibrate ! The visualisation wasn't less energetic ! :)

Me - at the beginning ....

... and - Yeah... well, in the end the  military airport looked quite differently XD

Our room (despite noisy neighbours it was really good place to stay)

the pier

Stands with food and beverages - everything was paid with coupons.

In the end - the best view of the festival - dozens of moblie toilets (called Toi Toi), stood in many rows :D
