Hungry in Hungary?

Hungary. Home to Lake Balaton, goulash and a breathtaking city of Budapest. After a long and rather boring drive though Slovakia, Hungary appears as a much more economically developed country. We arrived at night, which made it difficult to be struck by the beauty of the city of Eger. Daylight revealed a surprising truth about Eger: it is truly adorable.

What strikes immediately is that people over there are either not willing or they simply cannot speak English. Not even in the hotel, which proudly announces in English: "Welcome to the Hotel" on its door. It not only doesn't bother you but the way Hungarians get intimidated when being spoken to in English, moves you deeply. it makes them look like innocent, ashamed children, regardless the age. It won't take you long before you realise that Hungarians are very polite and toned down. Perhaps it is just a coincidence, but all Hungarians I've ever met, were just like that.

Budapest is a must. It's absolutely beautiful. You can finally communicate easily and actually be understood rather than looked at in amazement, cafes and restaurants are spread all over the center. It's worth climbing up the Gellert hill to have the magnificent view of Buda. You might be lucky when visiting the Castle and see the guards walk by and perform(changing of the guard).

Weekend getaway discoveries..

Someone who had a chance to live in a place surrounded by nature overwhelming with its beauty, where the endless mass of water runs along never ending shore line and all the people are so close to the nature that they nearly become a unity...

... taken back to the civilized jungle, where the streets are narrow, people are all angry at each other and you cannot really see that horizon separates sky from earth anymore... suddenly feels like a captured animal trapped in a zoo and keeps living bearing in mind, that something out there is not completely right and that he keeps missing something.

Grabbing every single opportunity arisen, that person runs away to the stolen, so scarce nowadays, beauty of nature. To feel freedom once again.
